Middle School Courses

Through small classes and hands-on learning, we help students strengthen study habits, explore new interests, and build the skills they’ll need to thrive in high school and beyond.

Guided Support for the Transition to High School

Middle school is where students start shaping their identities — and we meet them there with courses that nurture curiosity, confidence, and independence.

Building Foundations for Lifelong Learning

Math

Students expand their understanding of algebraic concepts, including complex functions, logarithms, sequences, and systems of equations. The course develops higher-level problem-solving, critical thinking, and reasoning skills while connecting mathematics to real-world applications. Algebra 2 lays the groundwork for advanced math and scientific study, reinforcing precision, logic, and analytical confidence.

English

Students strengthen their command of English through grammar, usage, and mechanics while developing written and oral communication skills. They explore literary elements such as central ideas, narrative perspective, and theme, and begin practicing critical reading and discussion. This course builds a strong foundation for analytical thinking, creative expression, and confident communication across subjects.

Ancient History

Students investigate the civilizations, cultures, and innovations of the ancient world, from early river civilizations to classical empires. They analyze historical sources, engage in research, and discuss the impact of ancient societies on the modern world. The course develops critical thinking, historical reasoning, and an appreciation for the origins of contemporary culture, government, and ideas.

Theatre

Students explore all aspects of theatrical production, including performance, improvisation, and theatrical combat, as well as technical elements such as set design, lighting, and stagecraft. The course emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and expressive storytelling, helping students gain confidence, teamwork skills, and a deeper understanding of the performing arts.

Graphic Design

Students learn to combine creativity and technology to design compelling visual content for a variety of purposes. They explore typography, layout, color theory, branding, and digital tools while working on real-world projects. This course develops technical proficiency, creative problem-solving, and the ability to communicate ideas effectively and professionally in a visual medium.
