Through small classes and hands-on learning, we help students strengthen study habits, explore new interests, and build the skills they’ll need to thrive in high school and beyond.
Middle school is where students start shaping their identities — and we meet them there with courses that nurture curiosity, confidence, and independence.

We are seeking students who are ready to collaborate with peers, manage their time responsibly, and engage deeply with both academic and project-based work.
As we look toward next year, we want to provide clarity and continuity for our rising 7th and 8th graders. From the beginning, our goal has been to offer a cohesive, well-structured pathway from Primary through adolescence—one that honors the whole child and prepares them for what comes next.
For the 2026–2027 school year, Thrive Academy will have an integrated, holistic model for grades 7 and 8. Instead of rotating between multiple classrooms and teachers, middle school students will learn together as one cohort throughout the year. This unified structure gives them the chance to grow socially, emotionally, and academically within a consistent, supportive environment—while also helping them transition toward the more specialized, multi-class structure they will encounter in high school.
Students will work in a blended-age community, engaging in core academic studies—English, Science, Math, and History/Civics—woven together with meaningful, hands-on experiences. They will explore gardening, fermentation, art, entrepreneurship, and other practical disciplines that connect their learning to the real world.
With this steady classroom community, students can mature at their own pace while taking on increasing responsibility. Throughout the year, we will place intentional focus on teaching time management, assignment planning, independence, and accountability. As students grow in maturity and capability, they will take on increasing responsibility—managing their classroom environment, driving their own projects, and developing executive-function skills. Our aim is for every student to leave 8th grade not only academically prepared, but grounded, confident, and ready for the realities of high school and beyond.
